Host a Structure Lab

"The Structure Lab provided very concrete suggestions, but more importantly I appreciated the way they were presented - the Lab is NOT a lectured-from power point, but rather presented in a deeply creative format with a myriad of activities..."

- Alexandra Peters, Nonprofit Trustee

Convene a Structure Lab workshop in your community for change-agents who are engaged in the challenging but fulfilling world of social ventures! Criterion is offering a unique opportunity for organizations seeking to build their market presence and brand awareness.

The Workshops
Criterion is offering a set of regional workshops that lead participants through an engaging learning experience and providing a roadmap of possibilities to navigate this new territory.  Workshops are 5-hours long and can accommodate up to 50 participants per session.  Participants pay a reasonable workshop fee, typically $299/person.

Target Audience
The workshop is designed for individual philanthropic, non-profit and corporate leaders, social entrepreneurs, and other institutional players who are developing new social ventures or expanding going concerns.

THE CONVENING OPPORTUNITY
Anyone or group can convene a group of attendees though most often Conveners are foundations, local networks of entrepreneurs, sector based organizations, and law firms.  A Structure Lab Convener works with Criterion to select a mutually agreed upon date for a 5-hour Structure Lab session in their area.  The Convener provides meeting space and accommodations (lunch and snacks), promotes the Lab to its network and guarantees a minimum number of 20 paying attendees (though private rates can be negotiated).  In return, Criterion will celebrate the Convener throughout our dedicated marketing campaign, including region-specific invitations, e-mails, website, and earned media, and introductions and collateral at the workshop.

This arrangement is underway nationally now, with workshops scheduled for this fall and winter in New York City, San Francisco, and Minneapolis/St. Paul – each convened by law firms who advise social entrepreneurs and are looking to expand their visibility in those communities.  To learn more or discuss the benefits of your bringing Structure Lab to your community, please contact Elizabeth McCance at mccance@criterionventures.com.
